As a Visual Experience Design Intern in our Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) Solutions organization, you will collaborate with other designers to deliver visual design solutions like improving the user interface, crafting engaging illustrations and icons for in-product use, and developing design system resources for products like AutoCAD or Revit. This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring visual designer with a passion for delivering user-centric solutions that make an impact on industry-leading software. Our designers are team players who craft beautiful user interfaces, work within our design system, champion visual excellence, and creatively think beyond the expected.

What you’ll do

  • Create Autodesk Design System-aligned, high-quality visual design deliverables such as high-fidelity UI mockups, icons, illustrations, prototypes and visual assets for production, user validation and testing, using Figma and other design software.
  • Partner with the broader experience design team, engineering, and program management team in exploring, planning, verifying, and building solutions that scale.
  • Engage as an active member of an exciting, diverse, and global design community.

What you have

  • Currently pursuing a master’s degree or undergraduate degree in Visual Design, Graphic Design, User Experience Design, or a related field
  • Understanding of the primary components of visual design, including typography, color theory, and hierarchy.
  • Understanding of design systems and reusable UI components
  • An eye for beautiful design and a passion for creating delightful experiences

Preferred Skills

  • Experience crafting stunning visual assets (illustrations, iconography systems, etc)
  • Experience visualizing solutions at multiple levels of fidelity, from conceptual presentations and rough exploratory sketches to detailed wireframes, refined mock-ups, and production-ready assets.
  • Experience in user research methodologies (preparing testing prototypes, conducting user research, analyzing responses to identify insights)
  • Experience presenting design work to a diverse audience, providing clear rationale and objectives for the design decisions
  • Experience working with Autodesk software or similarly complex professional product UIs.
