Video Solutions teams in the R&D center in Krakow have been growing dynamically since 2019. Currently, we have more than 150 specialists on board working on solutions for fixed cameras, video analytics, video management systems as well as access control.
We bring advanced video and analytics capabilities to public safety and commercial customers including healthcare, airports, retail, critical infrastructure and public venues. Video is no longer reactive – looking back at what has taken place – but it also informs proactively, issuing alerts in real-time when a person, object or vehicle appears or a perimeter is crossed. This critical intelligence enables users to take the right action more quickly.

Job Description

The Krakow Alta Video Team is excited to offer an internship opportunity for a motivated and eager-to-learn individual to join our team. We are working on a cloud-based Video Management System (VMS) that focuses on intrusion systems, integrating with security devices such as cameras, sensors, and access control systems to provide comprehensive security solutions.

As an intern, you will have the chance to work on a variety of interesting and technically challenging features, with tasks that might include developing new functionalities or conducting thorough testing:

• Assisting in the development and optimization of cloud-native services for video streaming and security data management

• Supporting the design and implementation of backend systems to integrate with various security devices

• Helping to manage large volumes of data in a performant and reliable way

• Investigating and suggesting improvements for the performance and scalability of our system as new features are added

You will collaborate closely with a global team of developers, testers, and product managers. We are looking for a team player who enjoys solving complex problems, is eager to learn, and isn't afraid to seek guidance and input from teammates when needed.

Basic Requirements

Specific Knowledge/Skills:

• Passion for Go programming and a desire to learn more

• Basic understanding of Postgres or other relational database systems

• Interest in designing and implementing backend services

• Willingness to collaborate closely with colleagues in product management, UX, and frontend development

• Eagerness to improve and optimize applications in terms of performance, maintainability, and security

• Basic understanding of network protocols (HTTP, TCP, UDP, IP etc.)

• A strong attitude towards continuous learning and staying current with technological advancements

• Proficiency in English

• Availability 32 hours per week or Full Time.

• At least one year cooperation (Contract of Employment only)

• Availability to work 2 days a week from our office in Kraków (Czerwone Maki 82)

Optional Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker for container orchestration

• Understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful and gRPC API design

• Interest in media streaming protocols and technologies
