The Role
Join the Nanofabrication team to help develop fabrication processes for superconducting circuits used in a quantum computer. Responsibilities include mastering fabrication techniques, device characterization, and improving processes.
Summary Generated by Built In

Alice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems.

The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously!

We are at the forefront of the quantum race, competing with tech giants such as Google or IBM, and we are growing fast after securing  €100 million of funding in 2025 to develop our unique technology.

Currently 100+ and counting, between physicists, PhD students, engineers and experienced business professionals, we are united to reach our ambitious goal. Are you a quantum pioneer? Join us on a mission to reshape the future!

We are seeking a motivated and talented intern to join our Nanofabrication team for a 6-month internship starting in september 2025. This is a unique opportunity to be at the cutting-edge of innovation, where you will contribute to the development of the fabrication process of the superconducting circuits for Alice & Bob’s cat qubit quantum computer.

As a Nanofabrication intern, you will be part of the Nanofabrication team, which is in charge of producing the superconducting circuits that serve as a basis of our quantum computer. The methods of fabrication can play an important role in the overall performance of superconducting qubits. The goal of the internship will be focused on the improvement of the first part of the fabrication process. This will imply mastering advanced fabrication and characterization techniques to reach state-of-the-art performances.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the state of the art of process techniques to fabricate superconducting circuits.
  • Fabrication of superconducting circuits in a cleanroom environment (cleaning, lithography, etching, thin film deposition).
  • Perform characterization of manufactured devices (SEM, AFM, basic room temperature measurements, etc.).
  • Improve processing and characterization techniques.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a MSc in applied physics, material physics.
  • Being familiar with such tools as optical lithography, electron beam lithography, wet and dry chemical etching, thin film deposition is a plus.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Meticulous and patient
  • Never satisfied with good enough
  • Team-spirit, information sharing and curiousness of others’ work

Recruitment Process:

  • Hiring Manager Interview
  • Technical Interview/Presentation with the Team
  • Final Interview with Talent Aquisition Specialist
  • Reference Check

Benefits:

  • 1 day off per month
  • Meal Vouchers with Swile
  • 50% Navigo reimbursement
