Overview:
SageSure, the insurance first, tech-forward, capital-lite managing general underwriter that focuses on the underserved, preferred homeowners middle-market, is seeking an Intern (Data & Analytics) to join our summer internship program. Over the course of this 10-week program, interns will gain tangible, hands-on experience and insight into our business operations. After 3 days of orientation and training, you’ll join our the Data and Analytics team where you’ll be assigned projects, with unlimited opportunity for challenges and achievement. We have, very often, considered our interns for post-graduation roles within the company.
What you’d be doing:
- Learning and networking with employees, leaders, and other interns during a 10-week, on the job experience with potential to earn college credit
- Own an individual Capstone project with deliverables and presentation to the organization.
- Additional 2-3 projects over the course of 10 weeks prioritized by the Data and Analytics team with weekly/bi-weekly updates to the team
- Receive coaching, mentoring and feedback from knowledgeable SageSure professionals
- Work with large datasets to perform exploratory data analysis, build predictive models, and develop actionable insights.
- Create interactive dashboards and visualizations using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar to communicate complex data insights effectively.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify data needs and deliver insights that support strategic objectives.
- Assist in extracting, transforming, and loading data from multiple sources to support data pipelines and analytics infrastructure.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in data science, machine learning, and BI, and propose innovative solutions to improve current processes.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Currently Enrolled in a degree program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field with an anticipated graduation date in 2026 or 2027.
- Desire to work in the insurance industry
- Knowledge of BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and database systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A proactive learner eager to deepen your knowledge of data science and BI practices.
- Ability to work independently, as a team member, and own challenging tasks
- Strategic mindset and highly analytical thinker with sound business judgment
- Authorization to work in the United States
Highly preferred candidates also have:
- Prior internship experience
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
