About the Position:
We are seeking a motivated 3D Modeling Intern to join our Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) team over the summer. This role will provide hands-on experience in 3D scanning, mesh processing, and virtual tour/digital twin/BIM model creation. The intern will work closely with DCIM team, gaining valuable insights into the practical applications of joining telemetry to data center models. The internship will run for up to 12 weeks, up to 20 hours a week, commencing on or around June 10th, and concluding by August 30th.
What you do daily:
- Plan the scanning routes of upcoming projects
- Assist in at least one on-site scanning
- Process scanning data to create E57 files
- Create meshes and Add Points of Interest by user role
- Help manage users access to digital twins based on role
- Create Post Project Deliverables in the form of BIM models, virtual tours, BMS graphics, drawings and modeled insights
What makes you a good fit: (Qualifications)
- Proactive and self-motivated, ability to work remotely
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Majoring in Architecture, Engineering or Construction (AEC) or Computer Graphics related program
- Intermediate understanding of 3D modeling software (AutoCAD or Revit preferred)
- Beginner understanding of 3D Scanning and surveying
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication and writing skills
- Enthusiasm for learning and taking on new challenges Must be currently enrolled in a degree program from an accredited college / university as a rising junior / senior
