FHI 360 is seeking qualified candidates for 2X Intermediate Sofware Developers for Human Resources for Health (HRH) activity under EpiC, South Africa. The positions will be seconded to the Department of Health in Bloemfontein.
Job Summary:
To design, develop, implement, and maintain internal software solutions. Ensuring compliance with departmental standards and norms.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and maintain software solutions.
- Assist in the analysis and design of system requirements.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize code performance.
- Maintain software documentation and version control.
- Support the integration of internal systems with external platforms (e.g., HMS2).
- Research and apply modern software development practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in software development.
- Proficiency in Java, C#, PHP, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Database experience with MySQL, SQL Server, and PL/SQL.
- Knowledge of system analysis and project management.
- Experience with hosting environments (e.g., Windows/Linux).
- Familiarity with public sector systems and standards (e.g., HMS2, NSI).
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git).
- High level of reliability, integrity, and responsibility.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Self-motivated with a commitment to professional growth.
Travel Requirements:
- Office-based with occasional travel as required.
- Standard hours: 07:30 – 16:00 (availability after hours when necessary)
Technology to be Used:
- Use of departmental ICT equipment (e.g., PC, printer, and cellphone).
