SUMMARY

Artera is seeking an experienced Integration Engineer II to join our growing Technical Operations organization within Engineering. This is a mid-to-senior level role ideal for someone who thrives working autonomously, enjoys solving complex data challenges, and collaborates effectively across technical and non-technical teams. As our first Integration Engineer based in Hungary, you'll play a critical role in supporting new customer implementations, feature expansions, and data integrations that power Artera’s platform.

In this customer-facing engineering role, you will build and maintain connectivity layers using integration tools like Mirth and IRIS, working alongside Professional Services, DevOps, and CX Operations teams. Your expertise with healthcare data (such as HL7 and EDI), coding languages like JavaScript, and strong communication skills will be essential as you navigate a dynamic, high-impact environment.

If you're a proactive problem-solver with a technical background in data integration, software engineering, or similar fields — and you're excited about making an immediate impact within a growing global team — we would love to meet you.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, build, and maintain integrations between Artera’s products and healthcare systems.
  • Develop and troubleshoot interfaces using Mirth Connect, IRIS, SQL, and HL7.
  • Partner with internal teams (Professional Services, DevOps, Engineering) to support integration projects.
  • Collaborate with customers to gather integration requirements, propose solutions, and deliver high-quality work.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues, particularly involving healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, EDI).
  • Work independently to manage competing priorities and drive project work to completion.
  • Support migration initiatives, including transitions from Mirth to IRIS and optimizations for scalability.
  • Contribute to process improvements and recommend best practices for integration development.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Participate in customer meetings, technical planning, and troubleshooting sessions as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 4+ years of experience in a technical role interfacing with data (e.g., software engineering, data engineering, integration engineering, or similar).
  • Professional coding experience, ideally with JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Strong communication skills in Hungarian and English.
  • Hands-on experience with healthcare data standards like HL7 or EDI.
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating data.
  • Ability to work independently and manage technical projects, collaborating across technical and non-technical teams.

BONUS

  • Experience with integration engines like Mirth Connect, IRIS, Rhapsody, or Corepoint.
  • Familiarity with interoperability standards such as FHIR, JSON, or XML.
  • Familiarity with web technologies (HTML/CSS) and REST APIs
