The Insurance Training Specialist will report directly to the Underwriting Services Training Manager and work collaboratively with all departments to create content and facilitate training sessions for Everest Insurance’s employees and program administrators in a variety of settings and formats.  This trainer needs to be proficient in adult learning and understand how to deliver content in ways that are best received based on the audience, background and experience of a diverse employee base and our external business partners.

The UW Services Training Team of Everest Insurance, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is looking for a Training Specialist I to join our team.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Facilitates Instructor-Led Training across multiple platforms and business segments in person and virtually as needed
  • Creates Job Aids, user guides, and other training materials for instructor led sessions
  • Creates Needs Analysis and Course Outlines
  • Collaborates closely with SMEs and Stakeholders
  • Serves as designated training specialist for platforms or systems
  • Works independently to manage projects and meet training deliverables
  • Works under the guidance of Senior Training Specialist
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of insurance concepts & Policy Life Cycle
  • Up to 25% domestic travel may be required to Everest offices or off-site locations to facilitate training sessions and/or gather requirements for upcoming business initiatives. Travel arrangements may differ based on your office location including travel by car, airplane, and/or public transportation.

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

Minimum Education/ Experience: Minimum education and experience needed for the role

  • High School Graduate
  • 1-2 years training experience or 2 years insurance industry experience in Commercial Lines

Preferred Education/Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred
  • 1-2 years training experience, including virtual, classroom, and online, preferred
  • Experience/Knowledge of insurance industry preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies: 

  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Ability to work constructively in a team environment as well as independently
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills are required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Webex, or comparable virtual learning platform preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (MS word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of levels within the organization
  • Provide feedback to students and management teams
  • Assess performance based on skills assessment taken post-training
