Inside Sales Engineer
JOB OVERVIEW
The Inside Sales Engineer (ISE) supports the customers by identifying their needs, offering standard and specific solutions/ equipment, and services. This in order to retain customers and maximize opportunities and their success ratio.
The ISE collaborates with outside sales, customer services, product management, and technical services resources to ensure proposals include technical solutions that accurately address customer needs, adhering to Tyco’s product standards, quality standards and specifications.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Key point of contact for clients, answering queries, providing basic technical advice and information on new product introductions and modifications.
Builds and maintains good relationships through Wholesale Distributors at all levels and coordinates new and repeat sales to ensure 100% customer satisfaction and account retention.
- Extensive interaction with customers, partners and team via phone or mail.
Enquiry handling, prepare, send and follow up on quotations.
Listen, understand and convey customer requirements to solutions and business opportunities.
Provide reliable solutions for all commercial and basic technical issues to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
- Determine improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, service applications, engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services.
- Gains customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operational improvements of using specific products/ solutions.
- Assist in negotiating contracts, terms and conditions.
Participates with other Regional sale colleagues in sharing marketing intelligence about product opportunities that will grow sales.
- Submits orders and confers with Customer Service Representatives.
Coordinate with outside sales and demand planner for forecast orders and special pricing (SPR).
Project management:
- Review of customer requirements,
- Where necessary involve technical services and engineering for designs & cost pricing
- Preparation of quotation
- Monitor project changes and captures cost for these changes.
- Provide status of ongoing projects and future projects
- Arrange Documentation + drawings by liaising with technical services
- Coordination with technical services, engineering and other relevant parties
- Follow up on project status
- Prepares frequent reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing quotation information vs success ratio, market application trends.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to sales effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Job requirements
Education
- BS/BA degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, or related Engineering discipline or similar background through education or related experience.
Experience
- 3-5 years of related work experience in the Fire Protection Industry
