About the Role

As an Inside Sales Engineer, you serve as the technical and operational backbone of our sales organization, ensuring accurate and timely response to customer inquiries and RFQs. You leverage your technical knowledge of our transformer and switchboard products to configure solutions and develop comprehensive quotes. Working collaboratively with Account Executives and Business Development Representatives, you review technical specifications, process documentation, and maintain quote accuracy while ensuring quick turnaround times. You also help maintain consistency and technical accuracy across our quotes through standardized processes and attention to detail.


Role Responsibilities

  • Technical Quote Development: Review RFQs and technical specifications to configure appropriate solutions using our product configuration tools. Create accurate and complete quotes for standard products in a timely manner while maintaining margin requirements and pricing guidelines.
  • Specification Review: Analyze customer specifications, single-line diagrams, and bid documents to ensure alignment with our standard product capabilities. Identify potential technical issues or clarifications needed before quote submission.
  • Sales Team Technical Support: Provide technical guidance to Account Executives and BDRs on product capabilities, configurations, and pricing. Support customer calls when technical clarification is needed for standard products.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain detailed records of all quote activities, technical specifications, and pricing decisions in our CRM system. Ensure proper documentation is readily accessible to the sales team.
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate with Sales Engineers on complex opportunities that exceed standard product specifications. Work with Product Management to understand new product capabilities and pricing strategies.


About You

You bring strong technical aptitude and attention to detail, paired with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Your analytical approach is balanced by your strong communication skills and ability to translate technical requirements into practical solutions. You dive into the details of specifications and documentation while maintaining high productivity, managing multiple requests with both accuracy and speed. Above all, you're driven by supporting the sales team's success and thrive in delivering precise, timely responses to customer needs.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical field
  • 2+ years of experience in technical sales support, applications engineering, or related role
  • Strong understanding or ability to learn electrical distribution equipment, particularly transformers and switchgear
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical specifications and electrical drawings
  • Proficiency with product configuration tools and CRM systems
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet quick turnaround times
