PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Develop, evaluate, and implement projects and changes to teams, tools, and automated systems to improve quality and productivity, as well as reduce operational costs of products and/or processes.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages automation projects.
Designs concepts or prototypes of machines and fixtures, to later build the final design in an application program.
Researches new materials and development methods to carry out Automation Engineering Projects.
Develops project presentations for internal clients.
Requests quotes from external suppliers, prepares budgets, and generates purchase requisitions for specialized equipment.
Responsible for receiving and maintaining purchased materials.
Interacts with the Automation Technical area for the integration or assembly of machines.
Generates drawings and diagrams for automated machines.
Develops control systems for automated equipment.
Responsible for requesting the project scope from the internal client.
Responsible for generating all necessary technical documentation for project transfer.
Supervises the installation and testing of equipment to ensure compliance with internal client requirements and specifications.
Performs acceptance tests on-site and in the manufacturing area for automated equipment.
Carries out activities following established procedures and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), QSR, and FDA regulations with a high level of responsibility towards product quality.
Executes activities assigned by their immediate supervisor according to department and company needs.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor degree Mechatronics, electromechanical, electronics engineering, or related field.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
Level 4: 5+ years of experience as an automation engineer.
