Introduction
The Virtual Computing Platform (VCP) is a critical platform that will future-proof ASML’s ability to support customer’s growing data demands, as well as deliver improved insights that drive more predictable performance. VCP runs on customer-owned hardware that brings together all data from ASML scanner and metrology equipment, enabling latest ASML applications and enhancing transparency and collaboration. It is a fab-critical system, as it could take down a customer's entire fab production if it failed. Job Mission
You will be working in the virtual compute platform (VCP). This platform is developed inside ASML to host compute and analytics applications that aim to improve the yield in the semiconductor factories of our customers. The on-premise platform is currently developed based on DC/OS. We are in the process of migrating to Kubernetes. We develop the platform aspects in our team. Scheduling of resources, containerization, fail-over and data collection from scanner and measurement devices inside the fab. We have an up time expectation of 4 nine’s. Installations and upgrades are automated with Ansible. Other technologies you may encounter are Spark for data processing, Kafka for notifications and high volume data ingestion. Hadoop and HBASE are used for data storage. Hyper converged CEPH storage is one of the candidates to replace the HDP stack.
As an infrastructure and software development engineer intern you will join one of our multinational Scrum teams to create state of the art software solutions. We are committed to follow the Agile way of working, with sprints every two weeks, aiming for frequent releases of working software. In all teams we cooperate with internal and external experts from different knowledge domains to discover and build the best solutions possible. We use tools like Continuous Integration with GIT, Jira and Bamboo. We move fast to help our customers reach their goals, and we strive to create reliable and well-tested software, as a failure in our software stack can severely impact customers' operations.
Job Description
- Participate in software development process includes platform automation installation and upgrading.
- Contribute improvement ideas in development process.
Education
A relevant Bachelor or Master student in software engineering, computer science, information systems, IT or other related subject with emphasis on software development
Experience
- At least one hands-on experience on the python and bash script
- Knowledgeable about Red Hat 7+ Linux and infrastructure installation and upgrading automation
- Experience on ansible is a plus
Personal skills
- You have good communications (downward, upward, and sideways), people interaction and teamwork skills.
- You are open-minded, you like to discuss about technical challenges and you want to push the boundaries of technology.
- You have good reading and writing skills in English and can organize report structurally.
- You are an innovator and you constantly seek to improve your knowledge and your work
