INF-PA287 Database Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a DBA Engineer (local contract) to work within our business end user environment.

Within BPCE-IT, the mission of the Infrastructure Data entity is to design, deploy and evolve the DATA infrastructures of the information systems to serve the business applications of BPCE-IT customers by guaranteeing safety, quality, performance, the uniqueness, coherence, and sustainability of their exploitation.

As part of its growth, the Infrastructure Data entity is looking for experts (senior and intermediate) and engineers (junior) in the Databases infrastructure domain area whose main activities are:

1. Design, deploy and evolve Database IT DATA solutions for patch management of technical infrastructures (ORACLE, EXADATA, ZDLRA, MYSQL, POSTGRESQL, MongoDB, SQL SERVER …) and Transversal tools (SCRIPTS, API, EOM, OUD, MEM, …)
2. Ensure the continuity and reliability of the DATA infrastructures for all information systems of BPCE-IT customers, secure their systems by Patching or Upgrade the Database in the appropriate supported version, always guaranteeing the service in compliance with the standards.
3. Contribute to business projects and assist users in the use of available solutions.

Main tasks and responsibilities

1.Understand the remediation strategy and process to succeed in the SI improvement.

• Develop skills on patching and upgrade topics.
• Know how to deal with patching and migration subjects autonomously.
• Apply database patches in a systematic approach.
• Proactively correct errors that blocks the patch execution.
• Develop scripts and API’s to automate the patching activity.
• Participate to build the future organization of Patch Management.

2. Setup automated dashboarding to follow activity and share progress.

Studies and Controls

1. Monitor and control versions of existing databases and software packages selected by the company.

2. Contribute to the development of technical solutions for the catalogue and architecture patterns of DBMS solutions.

3. Ensure and guarantee the integrity of the infrastructure bases of the existing databases by guaranteeing physical security (backup procedures, restoration, logging, start-up after patching, etc.) and logic (confidentiality, access).

4. Propose adjustments on database settings for optimal use.

5. Ensure technological monitoring of the DBMS solutions and software packages selected by the company.

Prototyping and qualification of technical solutions for internal company standards

1. Propose technical solutions to be adopted as corporate standards.

Exploitation & Support

1. Implement automatic monitoring and follow-up with dashboards (technical and functional).

2. Management and analysis (AI) tools for directing infrastructure logs Databases.

Qualifications

Main Technical Skills:

• Experience with databases administration (Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB , Postgres and MS SQL Server)
• Some knowledge of Exadata / Zdlra would be appreciated
• A significant experience of shell scripts and commands on Linux is mandatory
• Automation tools (Ansible, Ansible Tower)
• Python scripting development
• Knowledge of IS security policy and enterprise networks
• Problem and Incident Management
• Management of releases and changes (DevOps tools)
• You should have developed during your career experience, the usage of DevOPS tools such as:
• GIT Bitbucket, Confluence, JIRA, Jenkins, XLDeploy to manage CI/CD environments
• Monitoring of technological developments (Zabbix, Splunk, …)
• Ability to propose a solution adapted to the problem
• Ensures quality

Other Requirements

• English level B2 / French is a plus
