The Independent Testing & Validation team is responsible for the development and design of methodologies and standards for review activities across the Enterprise in alignment with the Risk Management Framework and ensuring effective and appropriate testing, validation, and documentation of review activities for risk programs, risks, and controls according to standards and other applicable policies.

Independent Testing Specialist is an individual contributor role and will be supporting the Enterprise Function Team. Key areas of involvement include participation in planning & scoping activities, execution of assigned testing activities for low to moderate complexity areas, assessment of findings, and assistance with report preparation.

In this role, you will:

  • Participate in engagements in a matrixed environment as an individual contributor under supervision primarily executing testing activities of low to moderate complexity. 

  • Understand Risk Management Framework, IT&V’s policy and procedural guidance, three lines of defense risk management structure, and key risk and control concepts.

  • Develop functional Knowledge in risks, controls, compliance, testing, assessment of findings, escalation and reporting. 

  • Gain knowledge of risk profile of engagement review’s subject matter (i.e. LOB, Enterprise Function, risk program, etc.).

  • Assess adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems, and control environment and understands market/ business/ regulatory changes to determine impact to engagement’s plan and scope. 

  • Complete assigned testing activities exercising effective quality review behaviors and seeks guidance for areas of ambiguity and/or uncertainty. 

  • Escalate potential findings to engagement management and follows through on reporting and resolution per procedural guidance.  

  • Collaborate internally with other IT&V team members in support of engagement’s overall review activities in addition to the individual areas of responsibility.

  • Build constructive and effective relationships, exercising effective communication behaviors, and holds self-accountable for delivering on commitments and renegotiates when needed. 

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Independent Testing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Understanding of auditing/testing fundamentals.

  • Understanding of risk and control fundamentals.

  • Foundational understanding of the COSO Framework and Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) programs.

  • Analytics experience with either of the following:  SQL, SAS, Python.

  • Experience with other analytics, business intelligence, or database management tools such as Toad, DAX, Microsoft Power platform, or Alteryx is a plus.

  • Experience gathering, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets; ability to retrieve data from various information systems.

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.  

  • Ability to research trends and analyze data.

    Pay Range
     

    Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

    $63,600.00 - $113,000.00
