About Team:
Enterprise Business Services is invested in building a compact, robust organization that includes service operations and technology solutions for Finance, People, Associate Digital Experience. Within EBS, we are part of Finance and our team processes the payment for suppliers of Walmart Warehouses who spread across United States and other 26 countries including South Africa, Argentina, Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Japan, and Mexico. We ensure the timely and accurate payments by reconciling the supplier merchandise against the invoices presented for the items ordered.
What you'll do:
Startegic Leadership:
- Develop and lead the comprehensive Mainframe to Cloud migration strategy, aligning with the organization’s long-term business objectives and digital transformation goals.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, stakeholders, and technical teams to define the roadmap, milestones, and success metrics for the migration initiative.
- Assess existing mainframe systems and define the target architecture on the cloud, ensuring business continuity, security, and compliance with financial regulations.
Program Management:
- Lead the end-to-end program management of the Mainframe to Cloud migration, including planning, budgeting, risk management, and governance.
- Drive the execution of the migration program across multiple teams, ensuring timelines are met, and deliverables are of high quality.
- Ensure close coordination between application development, infrastructure, security, and business teams for seamless migration with minimal disruption to the business.
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts associated with cloud services, migration tools, and other third-party technologies.
Team Collaboration:
- Build, lead, and mentor a cross-functional team of engineers, architects, and business analysts throughout the migration process.
- Foster a collaborative, agile working environment to encourage innovation and problem-solving, ensuring team alignment with program objectives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication and timely updates.
Risk and Compliance Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address migration challenges such as data security, system performance, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure adherence to finance industry regulations, data privacy laws, and internal risk management frameworks.
- Oversee the testing and validation of migrated systems, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and alignment with the company’s financial reporting standards.
Change Management & Stakeholder Management:
- Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of the new cloud platform by business and technical teams.
- Present regular updates to executive leadership, including status reports, progress against milestones, risks, and financial implications of the migration.
- Educate and empower the organization’s staff on cloud-based technologies, tools, and best practices.
What you'll bring:
Experience:
- 15+ years of progressive experience in IT Program Management, with at least 5 years leading Mainframe to Cloud or similar large-scale modernization initiatives.
- Familiarity of mainframe technologies (IBM z/OS, COBOL, CICS) and cloud platforms ( Azure, Google Cloud).
- Proven experience in the financial services industry, with an understanding of financial systems, accounting, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar IT programs with complex technology ecosystems and multiple vendor partners.
Skills:
- Expertise in cloud migration frameworks, tools, and methodologies, including rehosting, refactoring, and replatforming strategies.
- Familiarity of cloud architectures, microservices, containers, and DevOps practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Solid understanding of agile and waterfall project management methodologies.
- Strong risk management, budgeting, and financial acumen.
Certifications (Preferred):
- PMP, PgMP, or similar program management certification.
- Cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect).
- ITIL, Six Sigma, or other relevant process improvement certifications.
