Objective

Manage and oversee all customs matters within the company, ensuring efficient and lawful handling of all cross-border goods flows. This individual must possess a deep understanding of customs and foreign trade law to ensure regulatory compliance and optimize international logistics operations.

Main Responsibilities and tasks

  • Conduct inspections of export goods
  • Verify documents for both import and export transactions
  • Support the management of order processing for imports and exports
  • Serve as the point of contact and provide guidance during customs inspections
  • Determine customs master data in consultation with the headquarters in Switzerland
  • Assist in ensuring the proper customs clearance of imported goods
  • Verify tariff classifications (customs tariff numbers) and duties
  • Act as a liaison with authorities (chamber of commerce, tax office, tax agency)
  • Collaborate with shipping and transportation companies
  • Oversee warehouse management (including proper storage in customs warehouses and bonded warehouses)
  • Have extensive knowledge of the requirements for authorized economic operators
  • Ensure compliance with customs permits and legal requirements
  • Properly manage and monitor the AES P1 computer system (equivalent to EU-ATLAS)
  • Ensure traceable filing of export and import documents
  • Stay informed at all times about updates and changes related to EU legislation (eco taxes, plastic tax, dual-use, etc.)
  • Verify trade preferences
  • Export control, compliance according to EU guidelines (screenings, ICP, etc.)
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the area manager

Requisitos

Educational Background: Vocational Training in Foreign Trade or a University Degree. Specific training in Foreign Trade or International Logistics will be valued.

Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience as a specialist in Logistics or International Trade is required.

Technical Knowledge: Solid knowledge of export and import controls and conducting process audits. Proficiency in AES P1, MS-Office, and SAP.

Languages: English at B2/C1 level.
