As part of a dynamic new team, you'll have the chance to collaborate with diverse cultures, engage with overseas customers, and deepen your understanding of global customs processes. You'll be joining an energized, expanding group, working closely with our FIJI Water colleagues. This role presents endless opportunities to build strong relationships with global partners and contribute to the company's success.
This position will be based at our Tucson, AZ office and working a hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in the office.
Job Description
- Obtain manifests from all ports prior to the vessel's arrival in the United States and reconcile them to ensure accuracy, reporting any discrepancies to the Vessel Planner before discharge
- Ensure the timely submission and accuracy of Inward Cargo Report and clear errors if needed
- Confirm that payment has been received from the load port and that destination payments are settled before releasing the cargo from container terminal
- Liaise with customs to facilitate cargo release as needed
- Prepare documentation including arrival notices, delivery orders, and invoices
- Ensure the accurate maintenance and updating of the billing system
- Conduct thorough account reconciliations
- Maintain accounts receivable files and records
- Produce monthly financial and management reports
- Investigate and resolve any irregularities or inquiries
- Facilitate the release of cargo by verifying customer accounts and payment statuses
- Proactively follow up with debtors to ensure timely payment collection
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of work experience in an import/export role
- A degree in Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management or equivalent work experience required
- Team player with positive, customer-centric attitude
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well under pressure and make sound decisions in fast-paced environment with changing deadlines
- Effective time management and planning skills
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage expectations
- Keen eye for detail and desire to problem solve
- Capable of working independently while maintaining high productivity levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) at an intermediate level
- Experience with CargoWise is preferred
