As Alphawave Semi's Immigration and Paralegal Specialist, you will oversee all aspects of the North American immigration process and will be responsible for communicating with internal and external stakeholders. You will handle an array of US and Canada business immigration cases from inception to resolution and provide industry-leading services to internal clients by offering timely and clear immigration support, in line with onboarding and processing workflows. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in immigration policies, outstanding organizational skills, and a proactive approach to addressing immigration challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide legal immigration support and strategy from the initial kick-off call through petition filing.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to streamline current immigration processes in the US and Canada, develop comprehensive immigration policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Examine US and Canada immigration cases, identify appropriate immigration streams, gather information and application documents, review files, submit applications, handle re-submissions, and ensure follow up throughout the process.
  • Examples of immigration channels you may be supporting:
  • US: RFE/NOID responses for O-1, EB-1, and EB-2 NIW petitions, consular support assistance for immigrant visa (employment-based and marriage-based) and non-immigrant visa applications (B-1, H-1B, L-1, E-1, E-2, E-3, O-1), including DS-160 and DS-260 forms.
  • CANADA: PR applications, WP extensions, Intra-company transfers, EOI, Express Entry, FSWP, CEC, OINP, LMIA, C-20 WP
  • Keep abreast of ongoing US and Canada government updates, changes, rules and case types – for example I-485, H-1B, TN, E-3, E-2, in the US, or NOC, Prevailing Wage and Draw timelines in Canada
  • Actively monitor individual case pipelines to achieve production targets, meet critical deadlines, and increase stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Effectively communicate regarding procedural and case processing issues, identify immigration solutions, and understand current activity.
  • Provide feedback on opportunities for continuous process improvement and elimination of redundancy.
  • Manage immigration employment life cycle
  • Work on special projects, as assigned.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelors degree in paralegal studies or law related fields.
  • 5+ year of business immigration experience, either as a Paralegal or Immigration Specialist.
  • Familiar with both US and Canadian Immigration policies and processes.
  • 1+ year of experience working in a law firm, corporate, or startup setting.
  • Experience managing individual pipeline and proven ability to juggle multiple customers and priorities, keeping all customers informed of changes to deadlines.
  • Ability to function independently while following established directions and processes with limited hand-holding.
  • Resourcefulness, proactivity, sense of initiative, and interpersonal skills, will be critical in this role.
  • Familiarity working with Workday is a plus!
  • CP credential (US) and/or RCIC (Canada) are an asset.

Salary and Benefits

Your contribution will be recognized with a base salary within the range of $80,000 to $100,000 annually as It is influenced by your qualifications, experience, location, and the internal equity of our team to ensure fairness and consistency across roles. In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, employees are also eligible for additional compensation opportunities, including a short-term incentive program, Retirement & Saving Programs and participation in the Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
