This is a hybrid position in Milwaukee. Will require onsite presence on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
Summary
This role works under general supervision in a single IAM Domain, handling larger and more complex projects. Provides technical leadership and mentorship to junior personnel, stays updated with the latest IAM technologies and trends, and collaborates with third-party vendors to evaluate IAM tools and services. The roleholder possesses basic skills in requirements gathering and customer-centric thinking and can independently resolve moderately complex issues while seeking assistance for more challenging problems.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
*Works under general supervision within a single IAM Domain on larger, more complex projects
*Able to use problem-solving skills to resolve moderately complex issues independently but may need assistance from others for more complex issues
*Can perform advanced development tasks independently but may need assistance from others on the team for more complex issues
*Has a solid understanding of general security frameworks and delivery models
*Has a solid understanding of Identity & Access Management and tools within their IAM Domain
*Has a basic understanding of Identity & Access Management outside their IAM Domain and how their work impacts others.
*Possesses solid knowledge of engineering best practices within their IAM Domain
*Stays updated with the latest IAM technologies, trends, and emerging threats, and recommends necessary measures to mitigate risks.
*Participates in collaboration with third-party vendors and partners to evaluate IAM tools and services
*Partners with higher-level staff on complex issues
*Troubleshoot or analyze basic process issues, identify causes, and recommend efficiencies or provide formal reporting
*Basic skills of requirements gathering and seeing through the eyes of the customer
*Provides technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to more junior personnel within their domain
*Exhibits appetite for continuous learning and improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or equivalent work experience within Information Technology
- 3+ years of professional experience
- Experience in supporting at least one of the following domains: Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), AWS, Active Directory.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong sense of ownership and drive solutions to completion, including automation, testing, and documentation.
- Ability to explain technical complexities and solutions to multiple audiences.
- Competency with one or more scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Java, Node.js, React, etc.
- Demonstrate a continuous learning and improvement mindset.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology.
Desired skills and experience:
- Experience with Git, Github, and/or Gitlab
- Experience writing/debugging automation technology (IaC, Ansible, Terraform, EKS) within AWS
- Existing certifications or willingness to pursue AWS DevOps practitioner, Azure Identity Administrator
- Should have DevSecOps mindset

Pay Range - Start:
$84,350.00
Pay Range - End:
$156,650.00
Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment.
