Job Description:
Summary:
The individual in this role will join a talented and collaborative team of human resource professionals who will support the intern as they explore their interests in HR. The intern will be part of Barr’s HR operations team, which is primarily focused on supporting our corporate staffing function and special projects.
Responsibilities include:

Scheduling candidate interviews, including occasional coordination of travel arrangements

Posting and closing positions on the company website and across other targeted media

Creating employment records for new hires in our HRIS system

Maintaining neat, accurate candidate and employee files

Creating and updating documentation for staffing tasks

Supporting university outreach, college recruiting, and internship programs

Supporting compliance and policy administration

Providing updates to the company intranet site

Participating in process improvements and special projects as assigned

Shadowing various aspects of HR
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Ongoing enrollment in a human resources, business, or related program

Junior or senior standing, with a minimum of one full-time semester of undergraduate or graduate coursework remaining after the internship

Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

Excellent oral and written communication skills
-
Positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, and experience providing proactive, high-quality service to internal and external clients

Strong team mentality with a willingness to assist where needed to contribute to the group’s success

Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and follow-through
-
Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the future
A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of Barr's Minneapolis, Minnesota, office.
Compensation:
The anticipated starting pay for this position is $18.50/hour. This position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
