Responsibilities:
- Provide HR support and handle employee inquiries.
- Administer HR programs like service awards and recognition.
- Process unemployment claims and conduct background checks.
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with employment laws.
- Assist with payroll, new hire paperwork, and orientation.
- Generate and analyze HR reports and data.
- Organize employee events and recognition.
- Support HRIS data entry and maintenance.
- Stay updated on HR trends and best practices.
- Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on HR experience required
- Knowledge of Federal and multi-State employment law and equity regulations.
- Experience using HR software and HRIS databases (Workday preferred).
- Full understanding of HR functions and best practices.
- DOT experience is a plus.
- Effective HR administration and project management skills.
- Willing to take initiative and work independently when needed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Highly computer literate with capability in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and related business and communication tools.
