The HR Assistant plays a critical role in supporting human resources functions within the production facility. This position involves a broad range of responsibilities related to recruitment, employee relations, HR compliance, and employee engagement, specifically tailored to the needs of a manufacturing environment.
This is a part-time contract role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support employees by answering questions, providing information, and addressing concerns
- Help ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws/regulations; maintain required records.
- Assist with talent acquisition and recruiting including internal systems maintenance, applicant screening, reference checking, supporting managers with interviews and candidate selection, and communicating hiring decisions.
- Support a positive company culture to support initiatives and goals related to employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Assist with new employee onboarding and training
- Collaborate, innovate, and be creative in approaching and accomplishing work.
- Back up department functions and perform other duties as necessary.
Requirements
- 1 to 2 years of experience with general HR operations; previous experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Positive can-do mentality and readiness to go above and beyond to provide exceptional service to managers/employees
- Attention to detail
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook)
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize many tasks and complete them with accuracy and efficiency
- Ability to handle tasks with a sense of urgency and confidentiality
- Ability to work in a fast-pace environment with constant interruptions
- Some HR systems experience a plus (ATS, ADP, SAP)
