Hempel is a leading coating manufacturer that delivers solutions to clients which affect their operation and the environment. One of our key solutions are marine coatings that save fuel for our clients and reduce Co2 emissions. It is a strategic priority for Hempel to get a deeper understanding on the impact that our solutions have for our clients, and therefore we have a team dedicated to do performance analysis on data generated by ships. This is where you come in.
We are a growing team and you have the chance to become part of Hempel’s Commercial department, and provide our clients with hull performance analysis, that document the efficiency of the Hempel coatings that we offer to our global clients.
As a Hull Performance Analyst at Hempel, you will be analysing our clients fuel performance data by utilizing our in-house developed digital solution based on the ISO19030 standard. You will prepare reports for our clients with data showing the effect of our coatings, in order to support our sales organization and help our customers optimize performance in order to minimize fuel cost and CO2 emissions. You will be a part of an international team and work in a true global organisation where we collaborate with our regional teams to exceed client needs and expectations.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Monitoring & analyzing ship’s energy performance indicator trends on a monthly or quarterly basis for a portfolio of customers/ships
- Prepare performance overview reports for clients
- Conduct monthly meetings with owners / technical managers to provide feedback on vessel performance and data quality
- Support local sales in value selling our high end coatings through customer presentation
- Training regional sales offices in hull performance
- Support development of new data reporting & analysis tools in order to constantly improve vessel performance analysis methods and reporting together with department
- Develop knowledge database and provide training/knowledge sharing to relevant stakeholders
What does it take to become a Hull Performance Analyst at Hempel?
We are looking for a candidate with:
- A Bachelor’s degree preferably in Mechanical/Marine Engineering/Naval Architecture
- Sea going experience with experience in Senior Ranks is preferred but not mandatory
- Strong understanding of Ship’s On-Board operations
- Understanding and knowledge about ship hydrodynamics
- Basic coding/programming skills and understanding (Matlab, R, Python or similar), or PowerBi or other visualisation tools.
- Flair for data analysis
- Good English skills (corporate language).
- A self-motivated, energetic and proactive mindset
- Good communication skills and desire to work with cross functional teams with diversified backgrounds
