Summary of Position:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Coordinator to join our team. The HSE Coordinator will ensure our operations meet safety, health, and environmental standards. This role involves developing and implementing safety policies, training employees, identifying hazards, investigating incidents, and supporting the environmental team while fostering a safety culture throughout the organization.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
The following represents most of the position's duties but is not meant to be all-inclusive or prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary. Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory, environmental, and safety rules and standards, as well as corporate policies.
As a HSE Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
- Safety Policy Development: Creating, implementing, and overseeing safety policies and procedures to maintain a compliant and safe workplace.
- Training Programs: Conducting employee training on safety practices, including coordinating first aid training sessions.
- Hazard Identification: Proactively identify potential hazards in the workplace and recommend corrective actions.
- Equipment Inspection: Ensuring regular equipment inspections, documenting findings, and implementing necessary corrective actions.
- Incident Investigation: Investigating safety incidents using root cause methodologies and preparing relevant documentation.
- Support for Spill Cleanup: Collaborating with the environmental team to support spill cleanup efforts and participating in root cause analysis for incidents.
- Communication: Facilitating effective communication between operational teams and HSE management to ensure alignment on safety practices.
- Record Maintenance: Maintaining accurate HSE records, including training programs and incident reports.
- Emergency Response Support: Assisting in implementing emergency response plans and monitoring project security requirements.
- Contractor Safety Programs: Supporting the development and implementation of contractor safety programs at the field level.
- Data Analysis: Maintaining safety statistics, analyzing incident data for trends, and preparing advisory communications.
- Case Management: Leading case management for all workplace injuries, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
- Innovative Solutions: Offering creative solutions to safety challenges and promoting a safe team environment.
- Program Execution: Participating and leading teams in developing and executing HSE programs aligned with company goals.
- Administrative Duties: Performing various HSE administrative tasks, including composing reports and editing documents for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Having a bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, technology, occupational safety, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Must have 3 – 5 years of progressive experience in environmental health and safety, preferably in the oil and gas industry. An additional 3 – 4 years’ experience will be acceptable instead of a bachelor’s degree.
- Excellent understanding of OSHA regulations and other applicable safety standards.
- Professional safety certifications are a plus (ASP, CSP, etc.).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a solution-driven mindset.
- Live in Pecos, TX, or within a 30-mile radius from Pecos, TX, or Orla, TX, within a 60-mile radius from Orla, TX. Preferably locations between Midland, TX, and Carlsbad, NM.
- Company-paid housing will be provided during your working shift.
Working Conditions/Environment:
- Operates in a field and office environment, depending on schedule and projects.
- Due to the diversity of scheduled and non-scheduled remediation, environmental conditions vary significantly depending on the project.

- May be subject to extreme environments such as heat, cold, etc.

- Standing, walking, or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Walking on uneven and vegetated terrain; sampling activities such as hand auguring for soil sample collection.
- Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds and must be able to carry a self-contained breathing apparatus if needed. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
