We are looking for an HR Specialist to join our HR team. This role is critical in supporting day-to-day HR operations, employee onboarding, employee relations, and maintaining our HRIS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and enhance the onboarding process to ensure a seamless and engaging experience for new hires. Coordinate onboarding activities and ensure all paperwork and orientation materials are completed.
- Assist in addressing employee concerns and resolving issues. Serve as a point of contact for employees seeking HR support and provide guidance on company policies and procedures.
- Maintain the HRIS (UKG), ensuring accurate and up-to-date employee data. Generate reports, manage data entry, and assist with system troubleshooting.
- Manage general HR administrative tasks, including maintaining employee records, processing employment status changes, and supporting performance management activities.
- Provide guidance and support to the Technical Recruiter and Receptionist ensuring alignment with departmental goals and company policies.
- Assist with managing office facilities, ensuring a productive and safe work environment, including liaising with building management and service providers.
- Support the primary FSO in managing security clearances and maintaining personnel security files.
This is a full time, exempt, salaried position located on-site in Chesapeake, VA.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field (required).
- 3-5 years of experience in HR operations.
- U.S. Navy/DoD experience preferred.
- Active government security clearance (required).
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (UKG preferred).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
