Job Overview 

The Human Resource Business Partner (HR BP) will be responsible for day-to-day HR activities primarily supporting our UK employee group. They will also work closely with our HR Leadership team and the wider global HR team, undertaking projects and ensuring consistent application of Mitratech’s people management policies and processes within their region.

This role will be offered on a fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover.  The postholder will be expected to spend one or two days per week at our office in Burnham, Buckinghamshire.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for HR input & compliance for in-country payroll and benefits, working with the Finance & Accounting team to ensure accurate and timely process is followed always. 
  • Manage the talent acquisition process for their area of responsibility, including sourcing, screening, interviewing and hiring qualified job applicants.  Work with hiring managers to review and update new requirements, ensuring skills & competencies are understood and appropriate for future business needs, and with IT team to ensure new employees are provided with suitable equipment & systems access to perform their role. 
  • Become a trusted advisor to the HR management team on matters of employee relations, performance management and employee engagement across their area of responsibility.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable local and national employment & immigration laws & regulations, and best practice.  Regularly review and advise HR Manager where updates to local policies and employee handbooks are required, to ensure on-going compliance.
  • Analyse trends in local pay & benefits as required, and propose improvements to ensure Mitratech is positioned to attract & retain the best talent. 
  • Provide guidance & support to managers on performance improvement, disciplinary matters and potential terminations.
  • Review & act on quarterly engagement survey feedback for their area of responsibility, working with managers on action plans & local initiatives. Participate in the HR working group providing feedback and analysis of survey results.
  • Work with the Training team to create and implement L & D programs supporting development opportunities for employees.
  • Work with members of the wider HR team on projects to improve effectiveness of our HR processes & systems, and implementation of organization-wide initiatives, such as recognition and wellness programmes. 
  • Assist where required with running of local Mitratech premises.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Requirements & Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of UK employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

Education:   

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or other appropriate field. 
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in an HR generalist role, ideally in a related business environment.
  • Experience of working with payroll and the management of employee benefits programmes.
  • Professional qualification in Human Resource management, CIPD preferred.
