What You'll Bring:

We’re looking for a HR Advisor to join our growing Human Resources team. 

This role will focus on quality, compliance, risk and work permits in a regulated environment.  You will own the operational relationship with our centralised People Services team and your key responsibility will be to communicate and advise on UK and European requirements to People Services in terms of policy and process, as well as ensure compliance with Financial Conduct Authority SMCR, advise on work permits and provide reporting and MI. In addition you will be responsible for the HR Business Continuity Plan, attesting against a risk register including quality and spot checking, co-ordinating integration activities and supporting colleague benefits activities and processes.  The successful applicant will have the opportunity to build relationships across a large global organisation, while ensuring quality in-region.

Day to Day You’ll Be:

  • Delivering exceptional customer service by building strong, effective, proactive relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Owning the operational relationship and partnering with People Services, ensuring that in market requirements are met and executed correctly and against SLAs on an ongoing basis.
  • Acting as regional lead/ escalation point for People Services in terms of issues, risks and exceptions for approval.
  • Ensuring the centralised People Services function are conducting regular and thorough quality checks, utilising the outcomes to provide advice and recommendations in terms of risks and improvements required.
  • Providing input on Standard Operating Procedures as required and being integral to driving continuous process improvement.
  • Ensuring that the SMCR framework is complied with, partnering with People Services and Risk and Compliance on this.
  • Advising on Work Permits and ensure compliance with our sponsorship license, as well as accurate record keeping.
  • Providing advice to colleagues on a range of people related queries and issues as they relate to operational quality, compliance, risk and work permits.
  • Managing all workload through to resolution, tracking and reporting and escalating risks where appropriate.
  • Producing regular reports and MI.
  • Attending audits to represent the function if required.
  • Taking responsibility for the HR Business Continuity Plan, attest against a risk register including quality and spot checking.
  • Supporting colleague benefits activities and processes.  
  • Supporting HR Business Partners where appropriate with acquisitions and integration activities from a co-ordination point of view.
  • Proactive involvement in any initiatives or activities across all HR areas, supporting the wider HR team where appropriate with delivery of specialist projects.
  • Working with HR Advisor (Employee Relations) on HR policies to ensure fit for purpose and meet legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the HR Advisor (Employee Relations) with any ad-hoc employee relations cases.
  • Keeping abreast of legislative and regulatory changes, proactively adapting processes and documentation appropriately.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Solid UK HR and employment law knowledge;
  • Relevant experience in an HR Generalist, Shared Services or HR Compliance role, covering the hire to retire lifecycle;
  • Ability to be a self starter and independently manage workload in a fast-paced environment, escalating or seeking guidance where required;
  • Knowledge of GDPR legislation;
  • Excel, reporting and analysis skills to allow you to produce, manipulate and interpret data;
  • Experience in reviewing and improving policies and Standard Operating Procedures;
  • Experience in owning and managing HR risks and compliance activities;
  • Knowledge of work permits and immigration requirements (preferred);
  • Experience of working in a regulated and/or global organisation (preferred).
