About This Role: 

We are looking for a Homeowner Line of Business Manager, who will be accountable for leading the Insurance Product Strategy for our Builder Home Line of Business on a Countrywide basis.  This position will work closely with our Builder and Sales Teams, External Builder Partners, Marketing, Underwriting, and Actuarial to develop and execute on Line of Business Strategy.  

What You'll Do: 

  • Define the strategy and vision needed for success with regard to the Insurance Product that supports our Builder business model 
  • Collaborate with Builder Sales Teams and internal MGA Teams in the development of all key tactics
  • Lead the development and execution of key plans and tactics developed to achieve the desired growth and profit of this business segment
  • Monitor and respond to key financial reports in order to ensure the success of the financial plan on a yearly basis
  • Partner with vendors as needed to incorporate necessary product and coverage features to successfully compete for desired business
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the industry and how Hippo can succeed in the ever-changing insurance landscape 

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a business or analytical discipline
  • At least 10 years of personal lines insurance experience with much of it encompassing the Homeowner Line of Business
  • Experience within home office business roles related to Marketing, Underwriting, Product Management or Development, etc…)
  • Ability to partner with field and home office teams in development and execution of strategic business changes
  • Self-Starter mentality when it comes to proactively running with assigned work
  • Strong analytical and communication skills supporting data driven decisions 

Nice to Haves: 

  • Prior experience with a Top 20 Personal Lines Homeowners writer
  • Prior Product Management experience in the Home line of business
  • Experience managing strategic homeowner companywide projects aimed to enhancing top or bottom line performance
  • Prior P&L ownership
