About the Finance Team:

We’re a goal-oriented team responsible for providing data driven insights which help the company with its financial decision making. This high performing team of financial minds works collaboratively to provide an exceptional level of financial support to the organizations business leaders.

What you’ll be doing as the Head of Treasury:

The Head of Treasury will be a Strategic Senior Leader within finance, overseeing the US treasury function. This role will have 1 direct report.

Cash Management:

  • Oversee all treasury operational functions, including daily cash management across multiple entities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of funding related tasks

  • Ensure adequate working capital to meet all funding requirements per business needs including: claims payments, supplier obligations, and employee expenses

  • Evaluate opportunities to reduce financial risk in cash collections and disbursements 

  • Handles receipt, disbursement, banking, protection and custody of funds, securities, and financial instruments

  • Prepares and interprets financial reports representing adequacy of cash position both current and prospective.

  • Manage and sign off on all cash forecasts, presenting the outlook in a global committee setting quarterly

  • Analyze financial records to audit prior accounting periods

  • Preserves company assets and the investment of surplus funds

  • Develop process to capture additional investment yield by putting cash to market sooner or holding cash positions longer 

  • Maintain positive banking relationships

  • Manage intercompany loan processes

Investment Operations and Accounting:

  • Develop and oversee relationships with third party vendors responsible for managing both investment funds and accounting processes associated

  • Partner with investment team to inform the management of our investment portfolio

  • Set short-term investment policies

  • Manage both IFRS and NAIC investment accounting processes; maintain compliance with both standards and the reporting requirements

  • Oversee and sign off on month end activities for the entire Treasury function ensuring completeness and accuracy of financials

  • Responsible for the state deposit process to ensure compliance with the state regulations

  • Manage investment expense accruals and recharges

Other Tasks:

  • Oversee Carrier Insurance Payment Reporting and funding adhering to Agreement terms

  • Drive standardization, automation, and process improvements across all treasury functions

  • Ensuring internal controls and process documentations in related areas

  • Develop relationships with Senior Management across the business including Finance, Corporate Treasury and Operations, collaborating on challenges and potential efficiencies

  • Support Business Projects relevant to Treasury and provide ad hoc analysis and assistance as needed

Desired Skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge in both treasury and investment accounting

  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, and customer service skills with the ability to be flexible and manage competing deadlines

  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, emphasizing good Excel spreadsheet skills. Versed in Pivot tables and macros.

  • Strong attention to detail and concern for accuracy and quality

  • Thrives in a fast-paced work environment with the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Ability to distil and translate complex processes into an easily digestible format for presentation to executives

  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality

Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Oracle Cloud

  • Tableau (or equivalent)

  • Banking platform experience

  • Treasury Management System experience

Education:

  • BS Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • CPA, MBA and/or CTP Certification preferred

Experience:

  • 10+ years of treasury experience

  • 5+ years of leadership experience within the Treasury Function

  • Insurance industry experience (P&C industry preferred)

  • Statutory Reporting experience

Salary Range: 170-190k

**Please note this position is hybrid and requires two (2) days in office weekly**
