About the Role

We began as Elastic Sales, a sales-as-a-service business where our team experimented with innovative sales tactics. Close was born from the need for condensed sales communication and CRM software to keep up with the team’s success. Along the way, we developed cutting edge sales practices, strong opinions, and a reputation as a leader in the space.

Now, we’re looking for a Head of Sales to bring us back to those roots and lead Close into the exciting future of modern sales.

Our Head of Sales will own, optimize, and accelerate our Sales function. You’ll manage and scale a team of Account Executives and Sales Development Representatives. You’ll be responsible for our MRR target and ensuring the most important numbers go up and to the right. 

At Close, we are our own customer. You’ll be optimizing our sales process and running innovative experiments that benefit not only our team, but our customers who look to us for expertise. 

The Head of Sales role at Close is a unique opportunity to redefine the future of sales in the technology and SaaS space. This is not just about leading our team; it’s about being at the forefront of a transformation. 

You’ll report to our Sr. Director of Sales and Customer Success, Liz Stephany, and will partner closely with Steli Efti, our CEO.

You are:

  • An experienced sales leader with 5-15 years in sales, ideally within growing SaaS or tech companies.

  • Skilled at building and scaling small, effective sales teams, with a strong track record of meeting and exceeding ambitious revenue goals.

  • An expert with inbound sales and Product-Led Growth (PLG) trial-hybrid model and knowledgeable about SaaS sales processes.

  • Strategic and innovative, with a forward-thinking approach to sales and a willingness to test new tactics, especially using AI and other tech-driven tools

  • An effective communicator and strong negotiator who can clearly share ideas, coach and motivate your team, and work well across departments and stakeholders.

  • Driven to make a meaningful impact and ready to push boundaries, take calculated risks, and lead a transformation in sales.

You will:

  • Build and lead a high-performing sales team focused on reaching ambitious revenue goals

  • Sell by example and own your own book of business.

  • Own monthly recurring revenue targets, driving steady growth in trial conversion rates over time.

  • Innovate with modern sales tactics, developing a unique sales playbook aligned with Close’s vision.

  • Have the autonomy to introduce new tools, explore AI-driven sales processes, and develop data-focused strategies for success.

  • Partner closely with senior leaders, including CEO Steli Efti, to ensure sales strategies support Close’s growth goals.

  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and customer success teams to deliver a seamless customer experience and improve the sales funnel.

  • Represent Close’s vision of a modern, agile approach to sales, contributing to industry discussions and thought leadership.
