ROLE

The Head of Procurement - Tech, Fintech and Digital Marketing will lead procurement teams for a portfolio of goods and services within this category space. Develops category and contract management strategies at a macro level across the business, setting the direction for in-country and global categories. Will guide teams in the delivery of their projects, initiatives, and contract management plans, while ensuring effective program planning, resourcing, and delivery. Acts as a lead point of contact with senior stakeholders, fostering effective and balanced relationships across the business. Develops, coaches, and performance manages the team, inspiring them to grow professionally and achieve their full potential. 


This role encompasses four key activities: people leadership, leadership of procurement category and contract management strategies, delivery of the category program, and senior stakeholder engagement. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • People Leadership: Lead and inspire the team to deliver exceptional results, creating an environment where individuals are motivated to achieve their full potential. Grow the team through effective coaching, personal development, talent nurturing, and robust succession planning.  
  • Category & Contract Management: Lead the development of global category strategies and facilitate in-country and global delivery. Build programs of work that balance cost and service considerations, mitigate risk, and enable the delivery of wider business objectives. Identify and lead workshops to further develop strategy and initiatives, focusing on sourcing, procurement-led change, and contract management.  
  • Programme Delivery: Ensure the team's program of work is effectively governed and accurate at all times. Review and assess programs for alignment and appropriateness, ensuring a balanced pipeline of work that delivers financial plans. Balance program demand with resources and resolve conflicts related to priority or resource availability.  
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Navigate and influence a multi-functional/multi-cultural international stakeholder environment (functional, procurement, and supplier). Collaborate with internal and external resources to develop initiatives that meet departmental goals within budget and established timelines. Build rapport with stakeholders at all levels, understanding their plans, ambitions, and challenges. Challenge stakeholders with credible arguments and perspectives to influence and shape better outcomes. Take the lead in managing complex stakeholder relationships, engaging with stakeholders up to the business unit Board level. Advise, coach, and support the team on appropriate stakeholder engagement and share a compelling vision for procurement and their categories to inspire engagement and participation.

Utilize financial models (e.g., total cost of ownership, net present value) to assess commercial options and risks.

Skilled in managing stakeholders at multiple levels, challenging and influencing their thinking, and building effective relationships.

Demonstrate thought leadership by utilizing domain expertise to develop and advocate for best practices. Exhibit creative thinking by generating innovative ideas and solutions.  
  • A proven team leader who can inspire and guide teams towards a shared vision, navigating cultural differences and providing effective leadership across multiple business units and/or countries. Understand team strengths, weaknesses, and motivations, cultivating morale, motivation, and loyalty through coaching, mentorship, and clear communication. Create a supportive environment where team members are motivated to contribute and succeed.
