As the Head of Operations & Commercial, you will play a crucial role in achieving this mission by leading the end-to-end logistical operations for both Bupa Campus and the Clinical Training Academy (CTA) in Staines. This role is vital in ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in processes, driving strategic initiatives, and delivering a world-class learner experience both in person and remotely. You will also have commercial accountabilities, looking at opportunities to generate revenue and fostering new and existing partnerships.

This is a pivotal role which will be critical to the success of the Academy and delivering on future ambitions. This is an opportunity to put Bupa at the forefront, as the healthcare provider with the market leading offering for clinical development.

How you’ll help us make health happen:

  • Leading the operational management including day-to-day operations of the facility including utilisation, event management, evaluation & experience
  • Working with the central team, educators and external vendors to ensure the successful delivery of learning initiatives
  • Implement rigorous operational processes and continually reviewing these for continuous improvement
  • Establish and manage robust evaluation process to collect and analyse learner feedback concerning the usability and effectiveness of the learning environment. Utilise this feedback to drive continuous improvements in both content and interface design
  • Act as a Campus Ambassador, lead the marketing strategy to ensure awareness and effective utilisation of the campus
  • Plan and administer the budget, oversight for both Campus and CTA operational budgets
  • Collaborating with Group Tech & Digital People Solutions (DPS) to ensure the learner experience meets expectations both digitally and in person
  • Manage operational KPI’s and effectiveness of the physical site and learner experience
  • Line manage the operational team
  • Drive business development and meeting commercial targets in line with CTA annual costs
  • Manage external suppliers & partnerships
  • Engage and influence stakeholders as required.

Key Skills/Qualifications needed for this role:

The ideal role holder will bring a level of experience and expertise in operational management of a large facility or function, with a passion for delivering world class experiences and operational excellence. Along with a curiosity and passion for the future growth and opportunities.

  • Experience working within a large global matrix organisation
  • Experience in leading learning operations for a professional organisation or academy, ideally globally
  • Strong communication skills and is astute at identifying performance issues
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritise and execute multiple initiatives in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Strong analytical skills to assess the effectiveness of learning programs and make data-driven decisions
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Good understanding of LMS and LXP functionalities, including experience in leading service management teams 
  • Commercial acumen and business development experience.
