Responsibilities:

We're seeking a Head Lifeguard to join our team! As our new Head Lifeguard you will:

  • Supervise a Lifeguard staff of 20 – 25
  • Work will include both lifeguarding and administrative responsibilites
  • Schedule lifeguard staff
  • Maintain certification records of all LG staff
  • Help the Aquatics Manager with training
  • Serves as the manager on deck during events and/or swim meets
  • Maintain watch over the pool area ensuring a secure and safe environment
  • Employ accident prevention by enforcing pool rules and regulations
  • Respond to all injuries, incidents, and emergencies as directed by club policy
  • Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the aquatics center
  • Other duties as assigned

The Ideal Candidate would have:

  • Three years of Lifeguarding experience

  • One year of aquatics supervision

  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification (basic level)

Strongly Desired:

  • Five years of lifeguarding and/or aquatics supervision experience

  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer

  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire

Physical Requirements:

  • Candidates applying for this position should be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted repeatedly throughout the workday

  • Frequent walking and demonstrating and assisting with exercise movements; bending, stretching, lifting, pushing, pulling and squatting are movements performed daily
