In this role, you'll drive legal and compliance excellence at cluster level, through supervising and coaching local Legal and Compliance Heads and providing guidance in alignment with the strategy of the Cluster business and the functional Legal & Compliance priorities.


 

Job Description

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to

  • Adopt a pro-active, business focused approach by:
    • Serving as single point of contact for all Legal & Compliance tasks in a country for commercial and non-commercial sites, incl. coordinating data privacy, antitrust, etc. topics with Global Leads and Teams
    • Providing Legal & Compliance advice and determining appropriate actions/ processes in line with local strategy, local legal trends, legislation changes (marketing, tender, sales, launches, customer-facing activities, regulatory)
    • Managing matters and litigation (Legislative matters, antibribery, unfair competition and anti-trust, P&O, liabilities, etc.) and negotiating, drafting and management of commercial agreements (focusing on sell side)
    • Managing local corporate topics in alignment with global team and legal & Compliance reporting, monitoring & training, incl. transparency reporting, dawn-raid training
    • Support of P3, CoI, RAM, ERM, audits, TPRM, contract management, etc.
  • Build and review country outside counsel panels, manage outside counsel to budget.
  • As a member of the Cluster and Country Leadership Team, pro-actively contribute to strategy and business discussions, decisions, and outcomes.
  • Consistently explore opportunities to improve and strengthen the culture of compliance, looking for ways of addressing risks in an efficient and agile manner.
  • Support investigations conducted by Authorities, Corporate Security and Speak-Up on legal and compliance issues.
  • Build a highly skilled legal and compliance function. Support knowledge sharing and talent exchange beyond the country and cluster.
  • Support, advice and coach the local L&C Heads and facilitate cross-country processes and matters.
  • Lead implementation of key L&C processes, policies and procedures across the Cluster, with and through the cluster legal team.
  • Support regional above country/ cluster projects

What you’ll bring to the role:

Essential Requirements:

  • Law school graduate & bar qualification

  • Minimum 10 years post qualification experience required: ideally gained within a healthcare / pharmaceutical environment, and/or, with a credible law firm representing healthcare & technology clients.

  • Experience in managing Legal & Compliance work and projects

  • Ability to analyse complex legal and compliance issues.

  • Strong verbal & written communication skills; together with a high ability to influence and negotiate.

  • Proven ability to deal positively when working within tight time pressures & demanding clients.

  • Financial/business acumen and business partnering skills

  • Demonstrate professional & culturally sensitive work ethics

  • Change agility and resilience
