About This Role

This role will lead the Global CMI (Customer & Market Insights) team within the Global CE&O organization based in the US supporting all in-market and pipeline assets. The role will lead and establish a center of operational excellence, including CMI, global strategic forecasting, deep insights generation and competitive intelligence. The role will be directly responsible for leading and building a global team supporting all PDC requirements to deliver meaningful insights to enable optimized decision making to drive superior business performance. It will also be important for oversight of CMI delivery in the region (iCoE) and close working partnership to enable effective hand-offs from the Global CMI team, and any related interdependencies including capabilities.

This role requires generating deep market understanding, customer journey insights to short term decisions on business execution improvements, as well as longer term strategic decision making. This role will require close collaboration with key senior stakeholders including PDCs, Business Development/Corporate Strategy and Executive Committee members, presented in a compelling a meaningful way for the business to consume. It will be critical to create and consistently drive strong collaboration both across US and global stakeholders. 

What You’ll Do

Global CMI & Strategic Forecasting:
• Lead and coach a team to deliver deep insights generation, forecasting requirements serving both PDCs and regional requirements, ensuring proactive resource allocation and work to be completed is fully prioritized 
• Deliver all CMI requirements on a global scale, ensuring provide short- and long-term related insights to drive and optimize business decisions across the Biogen portfolio
• Ensure effective handover, deep partnership and collaboration from global to regional levels including iCoE CMI team, Heads of CE&O Rare/Spec (within International Centre of Excellence (iCoE)) to ensure effective delivery of CMI across the portfolio
• Deliver a prioritized CMI plan allocating resources efficiently and communicating clearly what can be supported 
• Build and deliver a meaningful insights generation platform in a meaningful format and presentation for the business to be able to consume and take action on
• Deep partnership with PDC leads to identify and execute to prioritized pipeline CMI and strategic forecasting requirements 
• Deliver scenario planning and forecasting modelling to support business decisions

Strategic Partnership:
• Provide thought partnership to align, prioritize and execute to CMI requirements across the Biogen portfolio including pipeline
• Create and maintain strong collaborations both across US (PDC/other) stakeholders as well as internationally, across iCoE, and key market stakeholders (e.g. Global CMI community)

• Deliver oversight of CMI delivery in the region (iCoE) which will be operationally managed by regional heads, including close working partnership to enable effective hand-offs from Global to Regional, and any related ongoing interdependencies including capabilities, delivery support from GBS etc

• Provide leadership and support within a defined Global CoE governance structure to enable country a strong collaboration and delivery between the Global & regional CE&O organization to build CMI and forecasting capabilities, drive operational consistency, and engage the organization to a shared vision

Driving Capabilities & Continuous improvement:
• Establish center of excellence to drive capabilities across Insights Generation/MR, Global Strategic Forecasting and Competitive Intelligence
• Keeping the complex simple across the team – ensuring that the business receive outputs required in a meaningful way
• Accountable to strengthen the partnership between Global CE&O and regional CE&O/CMI teams to enable a fully collaborative and enabling environment
• Leading innovation and improvement including full engagement in external capabilities, new thinking, market developments & trends
• Proactively seek new solutions and methodologies, delivering regular market analysis, providing complete recommendations with practical application of emerging trends and opportunities to enhance CMI and forecasting capabilities
• Identify and partner with Global CE&O LT to plan, activate and execute key opportunities to improve delivery & overall operations across the Global CE&O organization
• Actively apply continuous improvement philosophy and implementation across the Global CE&O full organization
Who You Are
You will drive innovation by bringing all relevant data sources together for making a clear understanding of the link between business execution efforts and successful business outcomes. You will define, create and drive a meaningful patient finding capability program in relevant pipeline assets, including all required resourcing and any external partnership opportunities.

Qualifications

• BA/BS Required; MBA a plus

• 12+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry

• Significant experience working across the business at a senior/executive level, including depth of knowledge and application of CMI, generating deep insights, modelling & forecasting

• In depth experience of CMI and forecasting related activities and processes

• Proven track record of driving change management internally

• Proven record of leading and developing people

• Advanced analytical & strategic skills

• Participation/leadership in defining and implementing global strategy
