POSITION SUMMARY
The Head of Experience Design (UX) & Strategy will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of user experience across our mortgage and lending products and services at NewRez.
This senior leader will build and mentor a high-performing design team of 3-5 while partnering with Product, Engineering, and Business stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer experiences that drive business growth.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the design vision and strategy aligned with company objectives and customer needs.
- Establish design principles, systems, and processes that enable scalable, consistent experiences.
- Drive innovation in financial services through human-centered design approaches.
- Develop roadmaps for experience improvements based on customer research and business metrics.
- Partner with C-suite executives to advocate for design-driven innovation and secure resources.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Build, mentor, and lead a team of product designers, UX researchers, and content strategists.
- Foster a culture of design excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Establish career development frameworks and growth opportunities for design team members.
- Recruit and retain top design talent in a competitive market.
- Manage team resources, budgets, and operational effectiveness.
- Partner with agency of record, Publicis who manages the performance marketing strategy.
- Product & Design Excellence
- Champion user-centered design methodologies across the organization.
- Drive end-to-end experience design for complex financial products and services.
- Establish metrics and KPIs to measure design impact and ROI.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations while maintaining innovative design solutions.
- Lead design reviews and provide strategic direction on key initiatives.
- Cross-functional Partnership
- Collaborate with Product Management to define product strategy and roadmap.
- Partner with Engineering to ensure high-quality implementation of design solutions.
- Work with Marketing to maintain brand consistency across touchpoints.
- Engage with Data Science teams to leverage insights for experience optimization.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
- Impact & Scope
- Direct management of 3–5-person design organization.
- Influence over product strategy and company direction.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Design, HCI, or a related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 12+ years’ experience in digital product design.
- 5+ years’ experience in leadership roles.

- Strong portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking and successful product launches.
- Experience in financial services or fintech preferred.
- Deep understanding of user-centered design methodologies and best practices.

Base Compensation:
$190,000.00 - $240,000.00 USD Annual
Additional Compensation:
In addition to base compensation, the individual in this position will be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
