About the role: Head of Employee Relations
Reporting to the Global Head of Talent, Centre of Excellence, you will be functionally accountable for Employee and Industrial Relations (ER/IR) strategy, policy and workforce practices for Haleon. You will ensure that the organisation, and those responsible for the delivery of operational HR, have the requisite global processes and capability to support ongoing business operations, as well as significant change initiatives and business transformation.
Key Responsibilities

Global Lead on Employee and Industrial Relations to sustain and promote exceptional business performance through outstanding Employee Engagement.

Provide ER/IR governance and oversight of business change (e.g. acquisitions, divestments, site closures, business restructurings and other global transformations), including ‘global air traffic control’ and programme management, as well as the governance of ER/IR related standards and targets.

Develop pragmatic global ER policies, practices, processes, and systems/tools.

Subject matter expert on ER/IR matters to provide advice and counsel to HR and business leaders, as well as on Labour Rights to provide oversight of our own employment practices.

Lead the Haleon European Works Council (EWC) as well as overseeing Information and Consultation requirements and practice across the organisation.

Maintain and develop the organisation’s ER capability, including ER case managers, ER community of practice, HR and line leaders.

Management of the relationship with global unions, and oversight of IR issue resolution and risk management.

Coordination of corporate ER management reporting and updates, externally to NGOs, Regulators, Government, and other key stakeholders as well as internally to support ER/IR oversight and governance.
Qualifications and skills
Essential
-
Broad experience in multiple industry sectors, preferably including FMCG and/or CPG in UK listed multi-national companies.

Outstanding interpersonal skills and a style that builds robust trusting relationships with business partners and stakeholders.
-
Strong commercial acumen with ability to think strategically as well as deliver operationally, both effectively and at pace to achieve results.
-
Proven ability to influence effectively with strong negotiation skills. Strength in conflict management and mediation skills.
-
Functional expertise which includes strategy and policy development, as well as execution and outcome management of transactional ER and IR. A proven track record of providing sound ER/IR counsel and advice to fellow ER/IR specialists as well as HR and business partners.

Significant ER/IR experience at a regional and preferably global level.

Experience of working with Trades Unions and in a unionised working environment.

An analytical problem solver able to develop creative solutions Demonstrated commitment to success in facilitating employee voice and improving employee engagement.

Demonstrate appropriate knowledge and understanding of international employment legislation, regulation and employment practice to be able to fulfil the remit of the role.

Successful track record of managing significant transformation projects at multi-country level, involving multiple HR teams and doing so by partnering with senior business stakeholders.
