How you’ll help us make health happen:
Acting as a strategic partner to the Group Director of Sustainability, this is a high-profile, high-impact role in the Sustainability Leadership Team. You will engage with senior stakeholders across Bupa to ensure delivery of sustainability projects in line with commercial objectives. Implementing strategy in a fast-paced, outcomes-driven environment and displaying energetic project delivery will be key to success in this role.
Key duties:

Co-ordinate and oversee sustainability project delivery, providing solutions and pathways across a matrixed and multi-stakeholder environment

Lead fast-paced, impactful change and continuous improvement to help Bupa achieve its strategic sustainability objectives

Drive the decarbonisation of scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions in line with science-based targets, our public net zero commitment and various interim internal targets

Develop and drive our ambitions and commitments for the restoration and regeneration of nature to support human health

Develop KPIs to monitor performance against sustainability strategies and drive delivery against them both within the sustainability teams and more widely across the organisation

Manage Bupa’s adoption of relevant environment and climate change frameworks so as to support delivery

Lead a team of experts, data analysts, and colleagues in Market Unit sustainability as well as other functional teams across climate action & nature

Present confidently at C-suite and Board level governance and reporting meetings, and engage other key stakeholders in support of driving outcomes at those meetings

Monitor macro sustainability, healthcare and relevant public policy trends (public attitudes, customer and regulatory sentiment, stakeholder positions, national and supranational policy)
Key Skills/Qualifications needed for this role:

Excellent project delivery and oversight skills, proven track record of large-scale complex programme delivery

Gravitas to engage and influence senior stakeholders (C-suite / Board level)

Commercial acumen and ‘stakeholder and organisational awareness’ to manage project implementation and delivery alongside broader business objectives

Ability to lead cross-functional teams through complex transformation

Proactive mindset and able to work autonomously with energy & passion

Sustainability sector knowledge is advantageous
