Summary of This Role

The Head of Bids and Sales Analytics is a role that is critical to ensuring that our global sales teams are equipped to succeed and follows industry best practice for sales, solution engineering, bid and proposal management.  The role includes line management of multi-country bid management, knowledge management and sales analytics teams, the latter being focused on Salesforce Administration.  The role will be fast paced, varied and requires both empathetic leadership and a strong desire to ensure our sales teams produce compelling bids for prospective Clients.

 What role will you play?

  • Line management of a team of circa 7 Bid Managers, Salesforce Administrators and a Knowledge Manager; You will ensure they are trained, supported, developed and challenged to deliver excellent support to our Sales Teams around the world.

There are three key functions in the team:

Bid Management:

  • Ensuring bids are qualified properly, planned for, resourced appropriately, and submitted on time, following our defined sales process.

  • Reviewing bid content to ensure it is compelling, conveys strong value messaging and differentiates TSYS versus competitors.

  • Ensuring our Bid Managers are trained and developed, adopting latest trends in B2B bidding where appropriate.

  • Communicate bid activity to the wider business to build awareness and garner support.

  • Own the relationship with our proposal management partner, ensuring we utilise them to best effect and continue to make advances in proposal quality.

Knowledge Management:

  • Supporting and coaching our Knowledge Manager to ensure we build and maintain a comprehensive repository of content, to include RFP responses, stock presentations, case studies and more.

  • Driving up efficiency and reducing turnaround times on RFI/P and proposal production.

  • Local ownership of knowledge repository / tooling

  • Sponsoring uptake of new technologies such as AI to further improve bid timelines and performance.

 

Sales Analytics:

  • The provision of reporting on sales activity (new name and product sales)

  • Coaching and supporting our Salesforce Administrators to ensure they continue to build their knowledge and capabilities in Salesforce.

  • Ensuring provision of the best tooling to equip our Sales Team for success.

  • Setup processes to gather requirements from our Salesforce user base to continually improve the Salesforce experience

  • Defining sets of KPIs to track the performance of our bid and sales teams.

  • Setup programme of regular communication to our sales and RM teams, plus senior management on our performance.

 What are we looking for in this role?

  • Extensive experience in B2B bidding, for high value long term contracts – across RFI/P responses, solution engineering and bid management – ideally 5 years plus.

  • Line management experience, including good coaching skills, ability to build trust and rapport with team members.

  • Proven experience in proposal / RFP reviewing, demonstrating a keen eye for detail and a passion for quality – with feedback driving continuous improvements across our sales community.

  • Comfortable with some travel in Europe and India (circa 20%), both to spend time with remote teams, coaching and training, plus may be required to support strategic bids on client site.

  • Effective relationship building, to grow both internal network at TSYS in order to create accurate, up to date sales collateral; and external network to gain industry / prospect insights.

What skills and qualifications do you need?

  • Strong written English language skills and an academic background (e.g. Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business) or equivalent work experience.

  • Qualified to APMP Foundation level as a minimum, Practitioner level desirable.

  • Comfortable with both Google and Microsoft suites of products
