This role allows you to work on a product that is shaping the future of music and audio streaming, with an opportunity to drive significant business results in a high-growth market.

In this role, you will lead end-to-end growth initiatives, leveraging Spotify's marketing platforms and external media channels to optimize user conversion, platform engagement, and lifetime value. Collaborating with diverse teams across the business, both locally in Japan and globally, you will implement campaigns with precision while deriving insights to craft the broader business strategy.

What You'll Do

  • Strategically apply on-platform tools (in-app messages, emails, push notifications, house audio/display ads) and off-platform media (digital, social, and traditional) to drive user acquisition and retention, as well as taking ownership of on-platform marketing initiatives
  • While this role primarily focuses on on-platform strategies, you’ll collaborate with the Marketing teams who lead off-platform efforts to ensure alignment and a cohesive user journey across touchpoints
  • Lead and manage the full lifecycle of growth campaigns, from campaign initiation and strategy development to post-campaign analysis and retrospectives to inform future strategies
  • Discover opportunities to test new platforms, tools, and campaign approaches to stay ahead of the curve
  • Working closely with the regional and global Growth teams, Marketing, Content, Analytics, Product, Business Strategy, Content, and external partners to ensure campaigns are aligned with business goals and localized for the Japanese market
  • In addition to driving Japan-specific initiatives, a key focus will be on enhancing scalability across multiple markets. This includes finding opportunities to regionalize successful initiatives, ensuring they can be effectively adapted and implemented beyond Japan

Who You Are

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in growth marketing, subscription-based business models, or digital consumer products, with a proven track record of driving user growth and engagement in the Japan market
  • Comfortable driving hands-on execution of CRM campaign setups, using tools and platforms to deliver impactful results. You can analyze campaign performance through Tableau dashboards and BigQuery data, turning insights into actionable improvements
  • Identify business opportunities independently and act decisively, engaging relevant collaborators to drive outcomes without waiting for instructions
  • Your curiosity fuels innovation, and you take ownership of challenges, going above and beyond to grow the business. You are adaptable to ambiguity and tackle problems with a goal-oriented approach
  • Deeply understand Japanese consumer behaviors, media trends, and cultural nuances, enabling you to design impactful localized campaigns
  • Welcome constructive feedback, are eager to learn, and continuously strive to achieve the best possible outcomes for your campaigns and initiatives
  • You excel in an environment that emphasizes data analysis and have practical knowledge of campaign analytics, tools for monitoring performance, and A/B testing methods
  • You excel at leading all aspects of intricate campaigns involving various collaborators, ensuring timely and outstanding implementation
  • You have a knack for identifying innovative ways to connect with audiences while staying aligned with strategic objectives
  • Outstanding communicator who can effectively convey complex ideas to collaborators at all levels of the organization
  • Fluent in Japanese and English (both verbal and written)

Where You'll Be

  • This role will be based in Tokyo
  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home
