The Role: Growth Associate

As a Growth Associate, you will work directly with our CEO to refine and implement our go-to-market strategy. Your role involves conducting market research, developing and executing targeted customer acquisition strategies, and defining key customer personas. You will collaborate with the product team to craft outreach campaigns and identify new market opportunities. This position offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of Jabu’s expansion efforts, driving growth and making a significant impact on our success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Research & Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape, providing actionable insights to inform our growth strategies.
  • Customer Acquisition Strategies: Develop and implement targeted customer acquisition strategies to drive user growth and engagement.
  • Persona Development: Define and refine key customer personas to ensure our products and marketing efforts align with our target audience.
  • Outreach Campaigns: Collaborate with the product and marketing teams to design and execute effective outreach campaigns that resonate with our target market.
  • New Market Opportunities: Identify and evaluate new market opportunities to support Jabu’s expansion across Southern Africa.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor and analyze the performance of growth initiatives, providing regular reports and recommendations for optimization.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in growth marketing, business development, or a related field, preferably within fintech or high-growth startups.
  • Analytical Skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strategic Mindset with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and solving challenges.
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic, multicultural environment and contribute to our collaborative, results-driven team.
  • Willingness to Relocate to Zambia (and work across Southern Africa) for at least one year, with a strong desire to explore and contribute to emerging markets.
