Job Description
The Kraft Heinz Information Technology organization is hiring a Group Lead who will be responsible for implementing the short and long-term strategies to enable the Data Engineering organization. The individual for this position will be a technical expert providing leadership and expertise in the areas of data architecture, data management, data quality, data governance, and data engineering. They will manage internal stakeholders, facilitate the development and training of data engineers within the Chapter, as well as provide hands-on design and development of platform capabilities.
Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and operate modern data architecture approaches to meet key business objectives and provide end-to-end data solutions
  • Lead the development and training of all internal and external data engineering resources
  • Build generic frameworks for data ingestion, data processing, and data integrations
  • Enforces best practices for software design, architecture, and implementation
  • Implements monitoring tools/processes to ensure platform stability and operational SLAs
  • Extends DevOps capabilities for deploying data solutions
  • Leads rollout of data governance & security systems
  • Supports creation and adoption of data assets for the organization
  • Works with senior executives to address or prevent common pitfalls
  • Acts as a data owner and functional data SME for the assigned area


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Business, Information Technology, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in role delivering and supporting software and data engineering capabilities.
  • Strong design and software programming development (preferably Python, Javascript and/or R)
  • Strong experience with cloud services within Azure, AWS, or GCP platforms (preferably Azure)
  • Experience building APIs (experience with GraphQL is a plus)
  • Experience with analytical tools (preferably SQL, dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, Tableau)
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps and CI/CD processes
  • Project management experience and strong communication skills
  • Self-Starter, driven with high business process acumen
  • Team Player with a positive attitude and ability to work across different business stakeholder and technical teams to accomplish complex tasks


Domain Expertise

  • 3+ years of working building enterprise data solutions
  • Proven ability to develop and deploy frameworks that can be leveraged across the data practice using services provided by major cloud platforms.
  • Proven experience creating data assets used in mission critical applications
  • Proven experience using DevOps practices in the data space (DevOps tools and ARM/Terraform templates).
  • Expert in Agile methodologies (certifications preferred)

  • Expert at developing data engineering talent and managing remote teams (internal and external)
  • Expert in the application of cloud technologies into a DataOps practice
