As a result, Verisure is reinforcing its Group Internal Control team with an exciting, rewarding, and impactful position to support its ambitious growth plan.

Verisure is seeking a talented, hands-on and passionate Group Internal Control Specialist to join our Group Internal Control Team, with colleagues in Malmo and Madrid. The role will be based in Madrid.

The Group Internal Control function is responsible for supporting business operations by ensuring effective internal controls and by identifying, quantifying, and managing the operational risks that arise within the Group. This is an exciting role that will be involved in a varied range of Internal Control matters, including risk assessment, control evaluation, compliance monitoring, and process improvement.

Building productive and respectful relationships across the company will be key.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate internal controls by assessing their design and effectiveness in risk management practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct control testing through walkthroughs, risk assessments, and documentation to ensure compliance with the COSO framework (or SOX 404) and identify potential weaknesses.
  • Plan and execute internal audits, including operational, ESG, and compliance audits, to enhance process integrity and efficiency.
  • Generate reports and follow up on deficiencies, tracking and monitoring the progress of corrective actions
  • Communicate with the team and management, maintaining clear and open communication to ensure alignment and transparency
  • Implement and improve control systems, developing and enhancing internal control systems to strengthen the organization's risk management framework
  • Execute key projects in collaboration with other departments to ensure comprehensive risk coverage
  • Support internal and external auditors during audit processes
  • Identify and assess risk areas to provide input into annual audit planning, prioritize audit efforts and resource allocation
  • Use data analysis to enhance audit procedures and provide deeper insights into risk areas
  • Develop actionable recommendations to improve business processes and control environments
  • Support the preparation of management presentations, board materials and other presentation materials.

Location

The position will be based in Madrid (Spain).

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree with high academic achievements.
  • 3+ years of experience in Audit, Internal Audit or support or Risk Assurance
  • Strong interest in data analysis and visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of process documentation and internal controls.
  • High level of attention to detail, proactivity, and time management.
  • Self-starter with proven stakeholder management capable of working independently and collaboratively across geographies.
  • Exceptional written (report writing), verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is required; knowledge of Power BI is favorable.
  • A high level of motivation, positive attitude, and a team player with a strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Experience working in SOX compliance and Proficiency with Workiva GRC is highly desirable.
  • Strong integrity and ethics with the highest standards of professionalism and accountability.
  • Some traveling abroad will be expected.
