Job Summary:
Reporting to a group manager overseeing multiple business units within a publicly traded software company, this position requires a motivated and energetic individual who is detailed oriented and can meet the demands of a fast-paced, dynamic Finance department that is expected to continue to grow through acquisitions.
The individual should possess excellent communication skills with the ability to work across all levels within the organization. We are looking for an individual that will challenge the status quo, generate ideas, and help implement processes to drive continuous improvement. The individual selected will interact frequently with the corporate finance teams in Pennsylvania and Toronto. The position will be remote but based out of our Berwyn, PA office
Job Description:
JOB DUTIES
- Forecasting and budget to actual analysis
- Support M&A due diligence process and business integration
- Oversee monthly close process for portfolio businesses
- Record/review journal entries and reconciliations
- Prepare internal financial reports, statements, and scorecards monthly
- Provide oversight of all accounting functions
- Perform monthly and quarterly variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with company’s internal controls
- Facilitate or participate in ad hoc projects and requests
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and processes, specifically IFRS 15 and 16
- Strong process improvement skills with a history of successful process improvement implementation
- History of developing/improving internal controls
- Ability to research, understand, and implement new accounting guidance where necessary
- Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with monthly hard close and meeting deadlines
- Strong Excel skills
- Adaptable and flexible to changing demands and priorities in an entrepreneurial business.
- Financial statement preparation experience is required
- Active Certified Public Account preferred
- BS/BA in accounting or finance required
- Minimum of 6 years of experience
- Management level experience at a private or public company required
- Public accounting audit experience preferred
- Experience in the software industry is a plus
