We are looking for Grid Connection Modelling Engineers to join our team in Izmir.
How to contribute to our vision
We are looking for a team member who is eager to take on an active role in developing our team.
Your responsibilities will include
- Development of electrical models for grid connection studies and implementation of specific functions/features into the model.
- Grid connection analysis studies via simulations in various simulation tools such as DIgSILENT PF, PSS/E, PSCAD, MATLAB & Simulink PowerFactory, EMTP-RV.
- Knowledge of programming languages, such as Python & DPL would be a plus
- Analysis of simulation results and identify needed performance/modelling improvements.
- Benchmarking and validation of wind turbine models against reference data.
- Documentation of activities: design report, validation reports, user manuals.
- Support to customers, either external or internal, regarding issues related to simulation models delivered.
- Identify gaps in the model development cycle and suggest effective solutions to decrease design time.
- Participate in the decision process for the company’s electrical modelling roadmap.
What you need to make a difference
Education: BSc or MSc in electrical or electronic engineering or similar equivalent.
Previous experience: Ideally, a minimum of 5 or more years’ experience in electrical power engineering modelling and simulation.
SW skills:
- MATLAB Simulink
- Advanced level experience with at least one of the tools below;
- PSS/E
- DIgSILENT PowerFactory (RMS and/or EMT)
- PSCAD
- EMTP-RV
- MATLAB & Simulink PowerFactory
- Specific compiling and compatibility issues of the software tools
- C/C++, Fortran, Python, DPL would be a plus
- MS Office
Technical knowledge:
- Grid simulation; load flow, short-circuit, dynamic simulations, transient stability, harmonic analysis, fault ride-through
- Grid code requirements fundamentals
- Modeling and simulation of control systems (e.g. current control, voltage control) and power system components (e.g. transmission lines, transformers, generators) in time-domain and frequency-domain
- Desirable experience with wind turbines (DFIG and/or FC technologies), or other converter-based units (e.g. PV, HVDC, STATCOM, Energy Storage) or other generation units (e.g. hydro power plants).
- Power electronics converters control and/or modelling
- Grid interaction studies: SSR, SSCI, weak grids; ancillary services
- Mathematics; numerical analysis, signal processing: filtering, interpolation, FFT, control theory, optimization techniques
- Electrical engineering; transmission and distribution networks, grid elements: (power transformers, power cables, reactive power compensation devices, protection)
- Electrical machines control and/or modelling
Languages: High level of English writing and speaking
