We’re looking for a GRC Analyst to support our Technology business unit, with a key focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI).
In this newly created role, you’ll play a crucial part in governance, risk, and compliance activities, ensuring the safe, ethical, and compliant adoption of AI and machine learning (ML) technologies. You’ll embed responsible AI practices into our existing GRC frameworks, helping to safeguard our organisation’s reputation while identifying emerging risks and opportunities in AI.
This will be a full time. fixed term 12 month contract (with the view to be made permanent) based in the Sydney office, with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Governance & Policy – Develop and maintain AI-specific governance frameworks, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with organisational GRC practices.
- Risk Management – Conduct AI risk assessments, monitor emerging risks, and integrate AI controls into existing risk frameworks.
- Compliance & Ethics – Ensure AI systems comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and ethical standards while supporting legal and privacy teams.
- Collaboration & Oversight – Work with cross-functional teams, facilitate AI governance bodies, and track AI/ML system risks and controls.
- Monitoring & Reporting – Establish dashboards, risk indicators, and reporting mechanisms to assess AI governance effectiveness.
- Awareness & Training – Develop training programs and awareness initiatives to enhance AI risk and compliance knowledge across the organisation
ABOUT YOU
- 3+ years’ experience in a GRC role or similar within financial services, insurance, or a regulated entity.
- Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and their applications in business settings.
- Familiarity with risk and compliance frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001/2/5, NIST CSF/RMF, COBIT, COSO).
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and risk management principles, with a focus on AI.
- Experience running risk workshops, capturing, analysing, and presenting information meaningfully to stakeholders.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional departments and stakeholders to ensure a cohesive approach to risk management.
