About the Job
The activities of Alfa Laval Food Systems Business Unit are divided into the following product areas: Oils & Fats, Agro & Protein, Brewery, and Evaporation Systems.
As part of this graduate program, you will get a chance to gain insights into engineering activities in your chosen industry by participating and driving multiple projects.
Alfa Laval Engineering graduate program offers talented and motivated young professionals an opportunity to apply and expand their knowledge, acquire new skills, and learn from skilled engineers in the industry.
As an Alfa Laval graduate, you’ll be considered a permanent employee from day one, solve business challenges, and become part of a large network of professionals in a global organization.
Key activities
During the graduate program, you will develop and implement projects within your ‘core’ industry, Agro & Protein.
This industry deals with the extraction and isolation of proteins from a variety of sources: fish, meat, plants, insects and fermentation. We focus on engineering and supplying energy efficient processing plants based on Alfa Laval’s core components: high speed separators, decanters, heat exchangers, pumps, etc. As an engineer in this industry, you will be at the heart of production of the sustainable food of the future.
In cooperation with the project manager and fellow engineers you will execute the mechanical engineering activities for appointed projects.
You will be responsible for the specification of equipment for our plants, in collaboration with process engineers: pumps, valves, vessels, high speed separators, decanters, filters, etc.
You will take part in designing the layout of process plants: 3D piping design, equipment layout, etc.
You will participate in external meetings with suppliers and customers, performing inspection, testing, and troubleshooting for deliveries or discussing mechanical issues and engineering activities.
You will drive improvement of our current technical solutions and develop new ones to ensure our competitive advantage.
You will also participate in an in-depth rotation in one of the other industries of the Food Systems Business Unit. During your rotation, you will get the chance to:
-
Learn the insights of that industry: Oils & Fats, Brewery or Evaporation Systems
-
Participate in a customer project
-
Handle continuous improvement projects
Program Structure
-
First Year: The first year you will be onboarding and working full time in your 'core' industry. Every second month, there will be one activity together with the other graduates to deepen your knowledge of the organization and/or promote knowledge-sharing and networking.
-
Second Year: The second year you will start your rotation in one of the other three other industries (Brewery, Evaporation, Oils & Fats Systems) of the business unit. During this year, your time will be split 50-50 between your 'core' industry and your rotation industry.
Mentorship
-
You will be assigned a buddy who will be able to help you and support you.
Who you are
-
You are about to complete or have just finished your master’s degree. Maybe you have a few years of work experience.

-

You thrive in a dynamic, multicultural organization, collaborating with colleagues from different cultures and backgrounds.
