Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking an FAU graduate student for the position of Graduate Assistant for International Student Programs and Events - Boca Raton, FL.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning extra-curricular events for the International Friends Program (IFP).

  • Oversee the matching process between mentees and mentors within the IFP.

  • Assist in managing the International Student Ambassador Program.

  • Support orientation workshops and programs offered by the department/Center for Global Engagement.

  • Organize event materials and handle logistical arrangements for smooth event operations.

  • Coordinate with other campus partners/departments for any collaborative events.

  • Manage event-related email and social media communications and generate content.

  • Assist with general office duties and serve as front desk backup as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

FAU degree-seeking graduate student in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0 required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Cultural sensitivity in working with international students required.
Organized, efficient, and able to multitask required.
Demonstrated ability to work independently required.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
Prior customer service and event planning experience.
Prior customer service and event planning experience preferred.
Flexible schedule.

Salary:

$16.00 per hour.

Work Days and Hours:

Various hours including evenings and weekends. Part-time up to 20 hours per week during school year, with possibility of additional hours during school breaks, dependent on budget and eligibility.
