What will you be doing?
- Stay current with new technologies and best practices as they emerge, and promote them within the team and to other team technical leads.
- Mentor team members and help them on their journey to greatness.
- Collaborate on long-term roadmaps for your team that suit the requirements of Pythian.
- Promote consistency and unity across Pythian by working closely with other Technical Leads and sharing knowledge and ideas.
- Stay informed of news pertaining to our clients technologies, highlighting and summarizing items of relevance promptly and concisely.
- Research and advice on complex problems faced by Pythian and our clients
What do we need from you?
- Strong understanding and expertise in GCP and either AWS or Azure.
- Experience on managing large scale infra on Cloud, Hybrid and On Premise environments.
- Able to understand GCP Billing and provide suggestions to customers on costing.
- Strong experience in identity and access management solutions in GCP.
- Understanding of Infrastructure as code (Terraform or similar) with experience in version control tools like Git.
- Experience on working on Kubernetes clusters. Understanding of GKE architecture and components. Able to fix the issues arising in the GKE environment.
- Able to find the root cause of the issues using Cloud Logging and provide a fix to prevent it from arising again in future.
- Knowledge on BigQuery, Cloud Functions, App Engine, GCP Virtual Private Cloud expertise.
- Able to understand Cloud Networking, Firewall, routes, VPC Network peering.
- Experience GCP cloud native services which includes but not limited to Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Load balancer, Cloud Monitoring, Disks.
- Solid understanding of system administration fundamentals with a Linux focus; Linux Server deployment, configuration, and OS patching.
- TCP/IP networking, NIC teaming, and network services configuration (DNS, NTP, DHCP, etc.)
- Administration of web servers and supporting technologies, Apache, and Nginx.
- Strong understanding of multiple monitoring solutions and how to implement and manage them.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to work solo or as part of a team as required.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of configuration management tools ( Ansible, puppet or similar)
- Scripting and automation of administrative tasks using Shell scripting or Python or similar.
- Prior experience recently working in a managed services environment or mid-to-large corporate enterprise IT environment, in either systems administration or engineering role is desired.
- Experience working with one or more hardware virtualization platforms such as VMware / Hyper-V.
- Database Administration skill set either with Oracle/SQL Server/Opensource.
