POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Global Wealth Management (GWM) field account manager will collaborate with home-office account managers to drive campaign sales, provide client service, and manage financial advisor and investment counselor relationships to collect district insights. This position is based in Taipei and would require frequent travels to Central Taiwan.

This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a deep understanding of the fund industry to effectively drive the business through distribution channels such as banks, insurance companies, and securities houses, among others, to expand PIMCO's distribution network in Central Taiwan.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sales and Business Development:
    • Collaborate with the GWM team to develop and execute a business development and relationship management strategy for the GWM segment in Taiwan, identified as a strategic growth area by PIMCO. Additionally, partner with home-office account managers to achieve the sales goals on a quarterly and annual basis.
    • Actively market PIMCO's comprehensive suite of registered offshore funds to the targeted client base in Central Taiwan and remain alert to sales opportunities that could facilitate business expansion in the region.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Foster and sustain robust, enduring relationships with clients' regional leadership, serving as the primary contact and overseeing all facets of the client account, while also focusing on acquiring new clients and delivering continuous service to current ones.
    • Demonstrate a solid dedication to embodying PIMCO's culture, values, and process
    • Offer comprehensive and relevant educational training to investors and support them in resolving any disputes.
  • Professionalism:
    • Possess a good understanding of fixed income, capable of evaluating performance, portfolio exposure, and risk metrics, analyzing portfolio data such as performance attribution, and helping clients understand the market dynamics.
    • Ensure investors fully comprehend PIMCO products by providing thorough, timely, and as-needed product information/training, and discuss investment solutions leveraging PIMCO's full range of resources and services in collaboration with internal teams.
    • Act as the primary contact for product-specific inquiries from clients and potential clients, offering up-to-date insights on the firm's investment philosophy, strategies, performance, and other pertinent details.
  • Market/Competitor Research:
    • Develop and sustain an in-depth understanding of the critical business and strategic challenges within this market segment in Taiwan. Cultivate relationships with influential asset allocators at key institutions that have shown interest in forming partnerships of this kind.
    • Collect essential market information and perform market research to pinpoint trends and customer requirements. Evaluate strategies of competitors and refine your approach to preserve a competitive edge.
  • Performance Reporting:
    • Track and report on sales performance metrics, particularly for Central Taiwan, offering insights and suggestions to improve performance and achieve objectives.
  • Compliance and Regulation:
    • Conduct ongoing monitoring to ensure that the distributors are in compliance with regulatory requirements and the terms of the relevant legal agreements

REQUIREMENTS

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor or advanced degree in Finance or Economics or relevant curriculum.
  • Regulatory certificate in relevant jurisdiction
  • Prepared to make progress towards attaining the CFA designation.

Ideal Experience:

  • Proven expertise in client service, cross-selling, and relationship management within the Taiwan GWM market.
  • Outstanding client service, product solution, relationship management and negotiation skills.  Capable of driving own agenda.
  • Team-oriented, with experience in and comfort with working in a global platform.
  • Knowledgeable about the investment management industry dynamics, particularly in meeting client needs, at a sophisticated level.
  • Deep understanding of economics, capital markets, and investment principles, backed by 8-12 years of relevant experience in financial services, preferably in fixed income or investment management.
